Message from the Principal

It is a great honor to serve as the principal of Andasol Elementary School.  Andasol is a truly unique and special school community, and this is reflected in the students who walk through the school’s doors each day. We have a commitment to inspire a passion for learning in each of our students.

Andasol Elementary School offers an engaging, relevant, and motivating program for our students. The wonderful teachers and staff at Andasol believe strongly in preparing our students to become responsible and productive community citizens who will one day contribute positively to our world.

Our families are the school’s most important educational partner. Without strong partnerships among the school, families, and the community, we will not successfully accomplish our school’s mission, which is to prepare our students to live in and successfully contribute to a global and multicultural world.

Our website will introduce you to the many and varied opportunities for learning and achieving available to our students. Welcome to Andasol!

I write this message to our families as we move forward during these uncertain times of COVID-19 and school closures. Teachers and staff are ready and committed to support student learning at home. We are having virtual Zoom staff meetings each week to better understand how to work together to continue to plan for instruction during the school closure. Teachers are communicating to students and parents in virtual “office hours” with various modes of communication such as phone calls, email, Schoology, or Zoom conferencing.

Our teachers are planning and presenting lessons for students in a virtual environment. The situation is new to everyone, but Andasol is in a much better place to work in a virtual and on-line format than other schools because of our work to become a 1:1 technology school. Teachers continue to grow and learn from each other as we provide remote learning. Our students are happy and enthusiastic to be learning in this new environment. It’s a brave new world for schools and students, learning together.

Staying connected helps us know that our families are safe and healthy. Andasol teachers and staff are rising to the challenge in this difficult time. We will be back together again stronger than ever. Go mustangs!
