Kite Project - February

The Sky's the Limit!
We invite students (and staff) to create an art piece about kites with the theme: The Sky's the Limit!
Please make sure you have read the contest details and guidelines below!

Deadline to Submit: Friday, February 19
To submit your entries, use your child's LAUSD Single Sign On just as they would to log onto Schoology.  You can also use any google account to access Google Forms.
Para enviar sus trabajos, utilice el inicio de sesión único del LAUSD de su hijo tal como lo haría para iniciar sesión en Schoology. También puede utilizar cualquier cuenta de Google para acceder a los formularios de Google.

Grade Categories
  • TK, Kinder, and Grade 1 
  • Grades 2 and 3
  • Grades 4 and 5
Art Categories
  • 2-Dimensional Visual Art - Student may submit any item in 2D inspired by flying a kite. It may be, but is not limited to photography, painting, pencil drawing, or an animated video/gif up to 30 seconds.
  • 3-Dimensional Visual Art - Student may submit any item in 3D inspired by flying a kite. It may be, but is not limited to, an actual kite or a sculpture.
  • All Other Forms of Art - Student may submit a piece inspired by flying a kite using any other form of art. It may be, but is not limited to writing a poem or a short story, composing a song, or choreographing a dance. Capture your performance in a video up to 30 seconds long.

  • 1 project in each art-grade category will be awarded a LEGO prize and a Mustang Spirit Shirt for their grade for a total of 9 prizes!
Contest Rules
  • Must be a current Andasol student to enter.
  • Only one submission per student.
  • By submitting photos or video, you give the PTA permission to post your entry online, including to our social media. *
  • PTA reserves the right to make the final decision on which photos or portions of video will be used in the Virtual Celebration.

  • Projects may not be demeaning to any ethnic group, race, religion, nationality, handicapping condition, gender (boys as girls and vice versa), or individual (staff or student) at the school.
  • Projects must be elementary grade level appropriate.
  • No weapons of any kind may be used or displayed in the project.
  • Projects must follow all LAUSD Code of Conduct and Acceptable Student Behavior Guidelines.
  • Los proyectos no pueden ser degradantes para ningún grupo étnico, raza, religión, nacionalidad, condición de discapacidad, género (niños como niñas y viceversa) o individuo (personal o estudiante) en la escuela.
  • Los proyectos deben ser apropiados para el nivel de grado de primaria.
  • No se pueden usar ni exhibir armas de ningún tipo en el proyecto.
  • Los proyectos deben seguir todo el Código de conducta del LAUSD y las Pautas de conducta estudiantil aceptable.
